EML Ltd was approached with a brief to create an unusual and eye-catching display for small electrical goods.

We designed a clear cast, polished acrylic shelf with an LED light unit fitted into a neat injection moulded housing.  This channelled the light through the cut polished edge of the plinth, creating a halo of light under the item.  Using the LED light gave ultra high output, but no heat – perfect for a range of products.  We fitted these onto slat wall shelving, hiding cables and transformers and creating what appeared to the eye to be floating shelves. Another optional extra is a ticket holder beneath the shelf.  By using a variety of shapes and light colours, the display created a real buzz in the store.  For some larger items we also developed freestanding plinths, in both large and small sizes.  An option to enhance display is to engrave the brand or message on the plinth or shelf front. 

This design was successfully rolled out into a number of large store formats.
