PepsiCo briefed EML Ltd on the need to maximise the presence of their Tropicana brand in front of store chillers, where space was at a premium and there was very limited additional shelf space available.  Meeting budget and time criteria was imperative.

At EML Ltd we looked at the space within the chillers, which led to the highly innovative idea of using space underneath the shelves.  Utilising this previously unused space meant that the unit provided had to be extremely robust, as it had to carry the full weight of the product.  To achieve this we used polycarbonate to make a virtually unbreakable injection moulded unit and attaching a steel-mounting clamp.  The easy-fill gravity feed system ensured the product was always presented to the customer and the pull out drawer allowed stock to be filled from the rear, ensuring good stock rotation    Using an easily fitted steel mounting-clamp, suitable for all chiller shelves, ensured in-store compliance was high. It also proved popular with retailers as it could be sited with snack products increasing impulse sales opportunities. 

Subsequent development on the unit will allow it to be used in a wider range of chiller areas.
