Walking Distance Ltd contacted EML when they were looking for a new unit to satisfy their requirements as they expanded from B& B’s and hotels into the passenger and cruise liner port sites.
The brief to EML Ltd was that Walking Distance Ltd was looking at a large volume of literature to be held in restricted space for a limited time period. The magazines and literature had a targeted audience, but, given the nature of the sites, they needed to be re-dressed easily, to allow rebranding to reflect the different shipping lines the customers were using. The specifications that had to be satisfied were that the unit had to be robust and flexible, with a high quality look In-situ. This was achieved through the use of the free standing metal and acrylic GEM unit and by the use of EMLine, EML’s polycarbonate card, magazine and book acrylic racking, with it’s extreme durability, attractive ribbed front and variants to satisfy the requirements of the very varied magazine sizes. It was imperative that the unit could be re-sited with relative ease, so needed to have wheels. A standard GEM unit (a gondola end, metal framed unit offering Peg slot, frosted acrylic or wire grid back with shelves, hooks or leaflet holders, optional side fins and feet or wheels) was adapted to incorporate all the features that were required. The completed unit fulfilled All the criteria required by Walking Distance Ltd, with a bespoke designed header and the incorporation of advertising opportunities on the side panel for the magazine publishers. Walking Distance staff have reduced the branding change to suit each client to a staggeringly short 2 minutes.
